Essential tips for your visit to Saklikent Gorge Canyoning Thrills
Wear appropriate footwear: Old sneakers or water shoes with good grip are essential. Flip-flops are a definite no-go. The rocks can be slippery, and you'll be wading through water. Water shoes are also available there to buy/rent, but we had our own.
Dress for getting wet: Lightweight, quick-drying clothing (swimwear under shorts/t-shirt) is best. Avoid cotton as it stays wet and heavy.
Protect your valuables: A waterproof bag would be nice to have, even nicer would be to not bring any bag. The walk is not so long so you can survive without needing anything.
Consider a guide for deeper exploration: While the initial gorge walk is straightforward, if you plan to go beyond the main visitor area into more technical sections requiring ropes, a local certified canyoning guide is crucial for safety and expertise.
Perfect Restaurant Nearby: There is a very nice restaurant near the Gorge with traditional Turkish seating. Don't miss it. (Başak Gözleme Evi ve Yöresel Ürünler)
