Discover Pindul Cave Tubing and Cliff Jumping, Yogyakarta
If you're visiting Yogyakarta, you've probably seen Pindul Cave (Goa Pindul) suggested next to Jomblang Cave, and wondered whether it's worth it. For me, it was an amazing experience.
Cave tubing in Pindul means floating on a rubber tube along an underground river, about 350 m long, through a limestone cave in Gunungkidul. A guide floats with you through the dark while you watch the bats and stalactites above your head. Helmet, life vest and tube are included.
Once you're out, the fun continues: jump into the river from about 3 m and 7 m. It's a chill, beginner-friendly adventure and one of the best day trips from Yogyakarta, so grab a tube and go!

Relaxed and beginner-friendly: you float on a tube with a life vest, and a guide looks after you the whole time. There are two jump spots, at about 3 m and 7 m.

The tubing takes up to 2 hours. Spend the rest of the time cliff jumping.
Reachability
Car
You need a car or a scooter. The cave is in Bejiharjo, about 1–1.5 hours' drive from Yogyakarta, and most people combine it with Jomblang Cave on the same day.

You'll be in the water the whole time. If you don't have an action cam, buy a waterproof phone pouch at the entrance.
Combine Pindul with Jomblang Cave on the same day, as both are in Gunungkidul.
Wear clothes that can get wet, and bring a change of clothes and a towel for the drive back.
